Your Bio

I am beating bowel cancer. I am a fighter, a lover and an optimist. We live in the shire, Sydney with my wife, two kids and dogs on the gorgeous Georges River. With my cameras, my fantastic family and friends I have been very fortunate to explore many corners of our fragile, fantastic world. My passion is capturing moments in and out of the sea. Hopefully by preserving and sharing the beauty thats often hidden just beneath the surface we will all have a richer life. God still deserves ultimate credit and thanks for creating our amazing planet and giving us our greatest gift life which we should cherish and protect."Life's certainly a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death" (Please make healthy choices). All my good, bad and ugly images are copyrighted. It may help if you smile frequently while viewing these galleries as life is too short not to laugh. I got the orange T shirt when we visited Palau for free from Sams diving tours. I almost drowned getting this fun shot in the Chandelier cave. We were 5 meters deep and it was pitch black. I have been head to head with an angry bullshark, lost at sea, rolled on the bar at Wooli, our 4WD rolled in the mud in the outback. I have been saved by Jesus, strangers, friends, nurses and doctors. THANKS. Live passionately everyday with hope and love and never ever give up. My rescue photos have miraculously travelled the global. I pray the real message touches many people and saves lives mine included.

2010 April Christmas Underwater Festival UF10 and Cocos Island : These are two amazing destinations on the edge of our nation. They have beautiful people and scenery above and below the water. Absolutely unforgetable experiences and people especially Simon, Linda and Tim. Seeing first hand THE JETTY where the refugees are all transferred to the detention center made me feel compassion for the children and the families. I asked myself If I would do any different ? I also questioned where else in the world would I go ? My answer is they come here because we are the luckiest country in the world. I wished we all ( myself included ) appreciated how fortunate and privileged we are to live here. My favourite shots are of the boy jumping from the jetty. It could symbolise a boy enjoying childhood or escaping detention. An extreme irony if ever there was one. I saw refugees including kids arriving but we were not permitted to take photos. They tried to delete my photos on COCOs but we escaped onto our fantastic Virgin Blue.

2009 May Moreton Island Diving Expedition Best Shots : Exciting expedition with family and friends to dive the Tangalooma wrecks and 4 wheel dive explore the island. We had lovelly sunny days and some violent storms. The 12 minute helicopter ride was unforgetable. We dived an amazing reef off Tweed Heads on the way up.

2010-11-10 Bea Burland Funeral : I did not have the honour to meet Bea in person. My family has enjoyed many great holidays with the Murphy's and the Golack's in Forster. Where we play tennis, golf, swim, drink Baleys and have adventures. I am battling Bowel Cancer, my Aunty Val is battling Lung Cancer and is sick in hospital. I felt a need to attend. My sincerest condolences to my friends John, Linda, Emma, James and Grant ( who I went to school with ) and all of Bea's family and friends. May she rest in peace. She was well loved. Life passes so very fast and its very fragile.
